Wedding Insurance when Abroad

Consumers considering or shopping for wedding insurance abroad apposed to the UK should consider the quality of the policy as compared to price.  Many people have said, that cheaper is not always better.  Understanding how value is a component of price makes consumers better able to choose a quality product over an inferior product.

Most wedding insurance companies offer insurance for weddings that are held abroad. Wedding insurance abroad can sometimes have limitations or waivers that are written into the policy.  Consumers should check with insurance companies about any special limitations that may exist for weddings are held overseas.

Because this article focuses on value and not price, comparison will be based on value with an emphasis on how value decreases costs.

the table above is a list of five companies with basic wedding insurance cover and limits for each company.  The bottom of the table also has a list of prices.  While this information was obtained from these insurance companies, the table is for comparison, only and should not be utilized for pricing insurance cover.

Insurance can be broken down into two categories. Those categories involve the relationship of your insurance company. and the authority to determine payments for loss.  What this means is that some items within this policy table are completely within the control of the insurance provider to issue payments for a loss.  The second category involves the determination or monetary awards for losses in which the insurance company has no control over.  An example would be the legal award issued by a court of law, following a lawsuit.

Of the two groups of covers that we talked about in the preceding paragraph one adds significant value to your policy , while the other offers insurance coverage that should be within normal limits.  An example of basic cover that is within normal limits, would be listed under wedding attire and John Lewis insurance. This insurance provider as an appropriate amount designated for wedding attire for a cancellation policy that runs 10,000 pounds.

The other four insurance companies offer slightly and significant higher coverage for this section. At first glance those higher coverage sections may be appealing, but consider the cancellation value of the wedding itself is only 10,000 pounds.  It is hardly likely that anybody would spend 5000 how it’s on wedding attire when the entire cost of the wedding is only 10,000 pounds.  This is where the concept of value comes into play. It’s more appropriate to think that a quarter or 25% of your wedding budget may be use for wedding attire.

When we talk about appropriate comparison of coverage to cancellation. It’s important to consider what your wedding budget is and how you allocate for funding for these cover sections.  Value as compared to price should be a consideration of what you are actually paying for.  Policies that offer inflated in areas where you’re not likely to to utilize all of that coverage, are not of value when compared to the price.

This is relevant to weddings that are held abroad. Because these are the policy terms that will cover your wedding.  To recap, this conversation, consumers should compare cover section values to the cancellation value of the insurance policy.   The value of cover sections should be realistic and in agreements as a percentage of the total value your wedding. Keep in mind that inflated cover sections offer no benefit beyond the basic price of good.  This means that even though your wedding dress is covered for 5000 pounds, the reimbursements will be for exact costs.  If your wedding dress costs 1500 pounds, and the grooms tax costs. The 500 pounds, then the most that she would be compensated for if something happened to both garments would be 2000 pounds.  The additional 3000 pounds in coverage meaningless. This is why value should be compared to costs when reading wedding insurance reviews.

Wedding insurance abroad should also be utilized in conjunction with travel insurance or specialized honeymoon insurance if needed.  These are details that can be discussed with insurance agencies as you discuss wedding insurance aboad.  The most important concepts that we hope to impart to consumers are those that teach  consumers how to can compare insurance policies for value over costs.  These concepts can be carried over as consumers shop for wedding insurance abroad.

In the wedding insurance comparison table above, several categories add value the policies because they protects you a consumer against judgments that are outside of your insurance companies control.  Legal expense, and public liability are two insurance cover sections that should be inflated because higher coverage is more protection for you.  These are not the same as the example we use for wedding attire. Because the amount of a legal judgment is an unknown variable and as such, more coverage protects you.  Of the policy that are listed on this comparison grid, one of them offers significant more coverage for those two areas.

John Lewis insurance offers an additional 5000 pounds in legal expenses, and 500,000 pounds in additional public liability coverage.  Both of these cover sections add significant value to the policy. This is where value begins to overshadow price.  When considering the premium range of all of these packages. The difference between the highest and lowest is roughly 30 pounds.  The questions that consumers must ask, is this additional legal coverage. An additional public liability cover are worth 30 pounds.  The answer should be yes, because nowhere else in the world will you find an investment that repays you 500,000 pound for a 30 pound investment.  This is the core definition of value.
